So how do they work?

Roofing Underlay

Used between the framing and roofing material, roofing underlay helps to manage condensation plus prevent water, dust and air from penetrating wall and roof structures.   It also helps to provide thermal insulation for your home. 

Building Paper

Used in the construction of walls and roofs, building paper is available in different weights, either with or without fire retardant properties.  Standard weight building papers are suitable for use in walls, while the heavier papers are recommended for roofs or windy environments.

Damp Proof Course
