Roof Membranes - Whitecap Synthetic Underlay

  • Fastwrap Whitecap Synthetic Underlay is a white, non-woven polypropylene, breather type fabric, on both sides of a white PE film.
  • Significantly higher moisture absorption rating than other products currently available in New Zealand (Fastwrap Whitecap surface absorbency 241g/m2. Average industry product 150g/m2).
  • Absorption is compliant with Standard NZS 2295: 2006.
  • Strong light diffusion properties maximise ambient light and reduce the requirement for artificial light.
  • Strong and durable. Does not tear when pierced.
  • We recommend that Fastwrap Whitecap Synthetic Underlay be supported by Bayonet Premium-6 Hexagonal Wire Netting.
  • Total weight is 125g/m2.
  • UV treated to 2.5%.
  • Meets NZ Building Code (NZBC) clause B2 durability performance B2.31 (b) not less than 15 years.
  • May be used unsupported up to 900mm centres.
  • Should not be used under skylights.
APPLICATION: Used in the roof cavity of commercial buildings to provide an effective second line of defence against moisture and drafts. Used extensively in the construction of garages, farm buildings and storage sheds. Not recommended for roofs of dwellings.
